Earlier this year, I made a decision to stop using ChatGPT for my own work.
In February 2026, OpenAI signed a deal with the U.S. Department of Defense to deploy its models on classified military networks. The initial agreement lacked clear safeguards around surveillance.
And while OpenAI later acknowledged the deal was rushed and amended some terms, the situation raised serious questions for me personally.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, took a different path.
They refused a similar deal because they weren't willing to compromise on safety restrictions. As a result, they were actively banned from Pentagon contracts. To me, that says something about their priorities.
This is my personal stance. I'm not here to tell anyone what to think or which tools to use.
I still offer my ChatGPT course, because custom GPTs are a genuinely useful product for creatives who want to sell AI-powered tools. That hasn't changed.
But for my own daily work, I chose Claude. And that's also, what my newest product is built on.
If you've been following along, you know I worked extensively with both ChatGPT and Claude.
Each has its strengths. The key is knowing which one is right for what. Let me break it down.
A Custom GPT is a version of ChatGPT that you can configure and publish for others to use.
You set the instructions, the personality, the tasks and then your customers or students can access it directly.
This makes Custom GPTs a great option if you want to create a product around AI.
Think: a pattern idea generator, a licensing pitch helper, a mood board-assistant, something you build once and sell or share repeatedly.
The catch:
Building and accessing Custom GPTs requires a paid ChatGPT subscription. And setting one up takes a bit more technical confidence than most creatives expect. If that's the direction you want to go, my course walks you through the whole process:

EUR 29
Claude Projects are something different. They're not a product you sell. They're a private, personalised workspace for you.
You set up your Project once with your creative profile, your goals, your aesthetic, your tools.
And from that point on, every conversation inside that project starts with Claude already knowing who you are. No more repeating yourself. No more generic answers. Just a calm, structured assistant that understands your work.
And here's the part that surprises most people:
Claude Projects work with the free version of Claude. No subscription needed (no extra fees).
If you want to set this up quickly and easily, I've put together everything you need:
EUR 9
If you want to sell an AI tool - ChatGPT
If you want a personal assistant for your own work - Claude
If you want both: start with Claude, it's free and you'll be up and running today.
Whichever path you choose, the most important thing is that you actually start.
AI won't replace your creativity. But it can take a lot of the heavy lifting off your plate. And you deserve that.
